
Jeans begin with a promise that most clothes are too polite to make: they will get better after being used. A crease behind the knee, a pale line across the thigh, a softened pocket edge, a frayed hem, a wallet mark, a stain that never quite leaves. These are not failures in the same way they might be on a formal trouser. On denim, wear becomes biography.
